Setelah istrinya meninggal, Altan menciptakan dunia kecil bersama putranya Can, tempat mereka dapat menahan kesulitan hidup. Bahkan dalam situasi tersulit sekalipun, dia bisa mengubahnya menjadi permainan dan membuat orang-orang di sekitarnya tertawa, bahkan di saat-saat paling tragis sekalipun. Altan bekerja sebagai pemulung sampah di pemerintah kota dan tinggal bersama putranya Can di lingkungan kumuh yang berdekatan dengan distrik kaya di Istanbul. Seluruh dunia Can berkisar pada buku komik. Suatu hari, Can didiagnosis menderita gagal jantung stadium empat, yang menghancurkan dunia Altan. Satu-satunya peluang Can adalah transplantasi jantung, dan menemukan donor untuk anak seusianya sangatlah sulit.
