Empat bersaudara, Saleh, Fajar, Tyas dan Azizah, sudah mendengar cerita tentang surga dan neraka sejak kecil. Mereka dididik secara ketat oleh ayahnya, seorang ustad muda yang cukup dihormati di desa. Suatu malam, dalam perjalanan menuju desa seberang tanpa sepengetahuan orang tuanya, Saleh dan adik-adiknya terseret arus sungai yang deras dan menghilang. Saleh kemudian terbangun di alam lain, neraka yang selalu dibicarakan ayahnya. Pencarian dilakukan di dunia untuk menemukan anak-anak sang ayah, baik hidup atau mati. Satu demi satu rahasianya terungkap, membuat para ayah dan ibu bertanya-tanya apakah mereka sudah mencukupi kebutuhan anak-anaknya. Di neraka, Saleh dan yang lainnya pun saling mencari, sembari menghadapi siksaan yang semakin berat atas dosa-dosa yang selama ini mereka sembunyikan.
